The Pro Elite Flyer’s Re-group with Coach Piazza & Staff & bounce back by beating the Columbus Blackhawks on the road Friday night November 11th 2016 in Columbus Georgia. Flyer’s final score against the Columbus Blackhawks was 129-91 & after a tough loss on November 6 against the Birmingham blitz at home during their season opener. The Pro Elite Flyer’s season opener doors of the Blackwatch Sports Performance Training Facility opened up at 5:30 PM and by 6 o’clock there was already a packed house awaiting the tip off & anticipating the rivalry that was built last year against both teams. By 6:30 PM there was already 600+ in attendance and the atmosphere of Blackwatch Sports Performance Facility, which coach Paul Smith coined with the new name ( The Birds Nest) was electrified with DJ Derek Farrior giving the Fieldhouse a NBA feel through his sound effects and versatile music selections and Don Michael already reedy bringing the live performance before the Flyers & the blitz tipped off." Last year’s coach and now Assistant coach / General Manager Timothy T Frye stated: " This is a healthy rivalry that is building in and around the city with the Birmingham blitz and Flyers playing three games last season against one another, this season we wanted to create a family, fun filled entertaining environment where these two teams can face off on the hardwood." We didn’t just want to sell tickets to a basketball game, but create a experience where families and groups can be a part of affordable sports entertainment. The Flyers trailed the blitz throughout the whole first half by no more then 10 to 15 points as the blitz shooting guards shot the ball tremendously well from behind the arc giving them that boost they needed to stay on top. The blitz won their season opener the night before against the Atlanta aliens in a buzzer beater by # 23 DD who hit a dynamic ABA 3-D rule four point after getting a still in the backcourt with two seconds left on the clock to lock in the win. This sent the Atlanta aliens back home with a loss and gave the Birmingham blitz their first when of the season before coming to The Birds Nests the next day to take on the Flyers. Throughout Sunday evening’s game the Flyers were learning how to trust one another and build chemistry on the court with so many new additions to the team and great athletic players who joined the roster for this 2016 -17 season. Although the Flyers struggled throughout the first half, they still stayed within striking distance as we arrived to the end of the fourth quarter, but just could not get over the hump to seal the victory and received their first loss of the season.
