February 27,2016 at 7 pm at Littlefield Middle School the Lumberton Showstoppers hosted the Pro Elite Flyers in a intense rematch that everyone knew would be a battle to the end. Early in the game the Lumberton Showstoppers came out on a mission, being up 19 to 7 early first quarter. Cody Hughes showed that he could not be contained the first half of the game with huge steals and fastbreak dunks. Frank Smith Center for Showstoppers was scoring at will down low against the smaller defenders. But the scrappy Pro Elite Flyers would not give in and would gain momentum off a hot shooting quarter from Lazabian Jackson and Calvin Thomas.
Going into halftime the Flyers would lead the Showstoppers by one on one wild night of TRBL professional basketball. Coming out in the 3rd quarter Derek Chavis and Steve Williams would begin to take control on the offensive end for the Showstoppers. With the game going back and forth the Showstoppers were trying to keep DeAnthony Hearford cooled down as he begin to get hot. Turnovers seemed to play a big part in the Showstoppers not being able to hold a lead as they had a total of 21 turnovers for the game. With huge play from Ricardo Samuel at the point the Showstoppers led at the end of the 3rd quarter 93 to 89.
Start of the 4th quarter the fans were out of there seats and cheering there home team to a much needed victory. Garrett Locklear point guard for Lumberton Showstoppers coming off a couple bad games got hot and took control of the game early 4th quarter and contributed to the Showstoppers going up 105 to 93 on the Flyers. The Flyers came back and answered with two huge threes to chip away on the defecit. The Showstoppers were very cold from the 3pt line as they went 18% from the 3 pt line as a team and the Flyers brought the game back to even off sloppy turnovers. Last minute of the game came down to who would hit the shots to walk away with the win. DeAnthony Hereford of the Pro Elite FLyers went on a tear from behind the arc and led the Pro Elite Flyers to a victory 134 to 131 over the Lumberton Showstoppers. Leading scorers for the Lumberton Showstoppers were Cody Hughes with 26 pts, 6 rebs, 5 stls also Derek Chavis 24 pts, 3 asst, 8 rebs and Steve Williams with 24 pts,4 asst, 9 rebs. Leading the charge for the Pro Elite flyers was DeAnthony Hereford with 52 pts, 3 asst, 5 rebs and Lazabian Jackson with 30 pts, 4 asst, rebs.
